Application and mounting PEX

Company OxyPEX engineering PEX (Germany is one of the world’s leading producers of polymers, including PEX sheets of various sizes, thicknesses and colors, which are manufactured by extrusion method of block copolymer PEX resin – ethylene (RCF) or homogeneous PEX .

1. Application.
PEX – a material resistant to many chemically aggressive substances and compounds, UV, and yet safe for the environment and human health. He easily handled manually and mechanically, that defines the broad scope of products from it:
- Tanks, parts and equipment for various industries (chemical, electrical, paint, food, etc.)
- Storage tanks for drinking water and food;
- Storage, storage tanks;
- Septic systems for autonomous sewer;
- Swimming pools;

2. Mounting material.
During installation with the use of PEX sheet should reflect the special characteristics that distinguish them from conventional structural materials.
- Mechanical connection – with the help of rivets, bolts, etc. While such a connection, and split, it is neither pressurized nor robust enough.

-Bonding – also not very reliable due to poor adhesion of PEX.
-Welding – the safest and most frequently used method of joining parts made of PEX. Widely used three types of welding.

The most durable weld performed on a special machine – polifuzionnaya welding. The edges of the joined components are heated to the desired temperature, then with the necessary force against each other. The resulting seam reaches 80-90% of the strength of the material. This way you can weld sheets of almost any thickness.
Welding of PEX sheets by hand extruder occurs with PEX filler wire, pre-chopped in a helical rotor extruder. Extruder – manual machine, so to get a quality weld should provide for the possibility of constant pressure and speed of welding. This way you can weld a sheet thicker than 5 mm.
When welding using the hair dryer (and a special nozzle) heated connecting parts and filler material. The weld in this case is the least durable – it is recommended to connect sheets and details of the thickness does not exceed 5 mm.

The last two methods require certain skills, so as welding speed depends on the temperature of heated material: at very low welding material parts may overheat, leading subsequently to its degradation and, consequently, reduce the quality of the seam; stitch will also be unstable if the material is not enough heated.
Workpiece and additives must be of the same material.

3. Transportation and storage.
Sheets are transported and stored in special pallets.
PEX sheets are stored on a flat surface and are constructed of cardboard. Sheets without UV stabilization should be sheltered from sunlight.

4. Basic physical and mechanical properties.
- Average density – 0,92 g/cm3
- Bending strength – min 25 MPa
- Modulus of elasticity in bending – min 800 MPa
- Tensile strength – min 21 MPa
- Modulus of elasticity in tension – min 900 MPa
- Specific impact strength – min 40 kJ/m2 at 23oS min 5 kJ/m2 at-30 ° C
